Let’s talk about those mysterious scale fluctuations. Noticed a sudden bump of 2-3 pounds (maybe even overnight!?) No need to panic—it’s probably not what you think!

Here’s a quick breakdown of why the scale might be messing with you:
▪️ Salty Foods: Had a salty meal yesterday? Salt can lead to water retention, making that number on the scale shoot up.
▪️ Hydration: Drinking lots of fluids can temporarily increase your weight. It’s water, not fat!
▪️ Late Dinners: Ate close to bedtime? Your body might still be processing that food in the morning.
▪️ Bathroom Timing: Sometimes, it’s just about whether you’ve had a bowel movement yet.
▪️ Menstrual Cycle: About to start your period? Hormonal changes can lead to water retention.
I used to recommend clients weigh themselves weekly, but nowadays, I’m all for daily weigh-ins. It really helps you see those normal ups and downs and not sweat the small stuff.
Remember: it’s the long-term trend that counts. If the average weight keeps trending downward, you’re on the right path. If it climbs over a few weeks, then we might need to tweak your regimen.
And hey, if you’re lifting weights and the scale goes up, you might just be building muscle—awesome, right?
Don’t let a number define your day or your progress. Keep going, stay positive, and let’s continue crushing our health goals together!
