As of this writing I will be 59 in a few short weeks (early Feb.). My story is probably not much different than most.
I would consider myself athletic. I have always been active – working out, golf, hiking, etc. As the years went by, I found that I had put on a few extra stubborn pounds that no matter what I did – did not want to budge.
I signed up for CrossFit about 4 years ago thinking this was the magic pill – hint, there is no magic pill. I look back at that now and laugh at myself. No amount of work in the gym was going to overcome my nutrition – or lack thereof. I’ve tried it all over the years (WW, Keto, ETP etc) and up until about 5 years ago, was successful in losing the weight but did nothing for my body composition. I was having a hard time putting it all together. It’s not that I didn’t know what to do; but it was hard to stay focused on all the things.
Enter Sarah … I do love this lady. She is my cheerleader and she is my gentle reminder that I should not be so hard on myself. She is also full of great ideas, good recipes, calls, and touch points through the week. More importantly, she is firm when I need her to be firm. I know it comes from a good place; and appreciate her. My prior experience with a coach was not great – but I chalk that up to chemistry. It just was not a great fit for me.
Call Sarah – if not now, when?
